Тема. Virtual Excursion to London , Kyiv , Washington
навчальна: узагальнити вивчений матеріал з тем «США», «Україна», «Великобританія»; практикувати учнів у висловлюваннях про країни та їх столиці, символи країн, розташування, традиції, людей; надати учням додаткову інформацію про країни;
розвивальна: розвивати короткочасну пам’ять, мовну здогадку; розвивати навички сприймання іноземної мови на слух; розвивати творче ставлення та пізнавальний інтерес до вивчення англійської мови; розширити знання учнів про англійську, українську та американську культури, традиції, народи;
виховна: виховувати патріотичні почуття, почуття гордості за власну країну та повагу до інших країн світу; любов до вивчення англійської мови; пізнавальний інтерес до вивчення англійської мови, виховувати колективізм, здатність працювати у групах, парах, трійках; виховувати інтерес до історії та культурних пам’яток країн і шанобливе ставлення до країн, мова яких вивчається; виховувати ціннісне ставлення до країни та держави.
Обладнання: карта світу, картки “Key-facts”, роздавальний матеріал, ілюстративний матеріал – визначні місця Лондона, Києва, Вашингтона, зображення англійської, української та американської символік, назви зупинок-подорожей у приказках, кросворд, комп’ютер, мультимедійний проектор, маркери, бейджики, «Дерево Знань», цитати визначних людей.
Тип уроку: узагальнення та систематизації знань.
Форми, методи, прийоми: робота в парах, групах, «ротаційні трійки», мікрофон, дискусія, «нескінченний ланцюжок», «навчаючи - учусь»; словесний (бесіда, розповідь, пояснення), наочний (демонстрація, презентація).
Міжпредметні зв’язки: географія, музика, історія.

І. Вступна частина.
Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення
1. Привітання. (Greeting)
- Good morning, children.

- I am happy today! You see, I’m in a good mood. Can you guess why?
2. Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу. (Warm up).
- I think you are in a good mood because:
a) it’s sprіng now and you like spring very much;
b) you have no headache and feel well;
c) you like English lesson very much;
d) the weather is fine today;
e) it’s pleasant to meet us.
- You are quite right. I am in a good mood, because it is spring now, the weather is fine, I feel nice and I like English lesson and it’s pleasant for me to meet you.
And what about you? How are you?
a) - I’m well;
b) - I’m good;
c) - I’m O’K;
d) - So-so;
e) - I’m beautiful.
3. Повідомлення теми та мети уроку. (Aim).
Today is an unussual lesson. We’ll speak about some interesting facts about these countries, sights, big American cities, famous people, the national symbols of Ukraine and English –speaking countries.
Everyone knows that to study a language one should study the culture of the country where this language is spoken. Аll the pupils of Ukrainian schools do not have opportunities to go to England or to the USA or even to our native capital.
Of course every teacher can tell many interesting about these countries but it better to see than to hear. That’s why I organized virtual excursions to English- speaking countries and to Ukraine . These slides I presented with the help of computer.
Pupils, what are your waiting of our lesson?

4. Робота в групах. (Working in groups).
T. Now I propose you to be divided into three groups. Each group will be present the definite country. Please, fasten the badges with the names of your country: ”Great Britain ”, “Ukraine ”, “USA ”.
II. Oсновна частина уроку.
1.Організація класу для проведення екскурсії.
T. Pupils, look at the blackboard! It’s the route of our excursion. We have 6 interesting stops. Are you ready? Let’s go.
2. Проведення екскурсії.

T. Our first stop is “It’s better to see than better to hear”.
Let’s watch the short slides about Great Britain – London, Ukraine – Kyiv, USA – Washington and be ready to retell these watching and add your.
(Children are watching three short slides).
T. The second stop is “So many countries so many customs”.
Let’s listen the English, Ukrainian and American Anthem. You’ll sing in with choir.

T. Our next stop is “That place is the best of all where we haven’t at all”.

1) The first group is telling about London .
- London is the capital of England . It is a very big and old city. London is more than 2000 years old. It stands of the river Thames . The Thames is a very big river. London is a beautiful city. There are many green parks and large gardens in it. There are many big, old and modern buildings, large shops, cinemas, hospitals, museums, monuments and palaces in the capital of England .
- The Palace of Westminster , known also as the Houses of Parliament, is where the two Houses of the Parliament of the United Kingdom (the House of Lords and the House of Commons) conduct their sittings. It is the place where laws governing British life are debated and passed.
Big Ben is one of the most famous landmarks in the world. The clock tower is situated on the banks of the river Thames and is part of the Palace of Westminster . Westminster Abbey is one of the oldest buildings in London and one of the important religious centres in the country. Many kings and Queens and famous people are buried or commemorated there.
The first St Paul’s Cathedral was built in 604 B. C. but burnt down in 675. The rebuilt cathedral was again burnt down in the Great Fire of London in 1666.
- The British Museum was founded in 1753. It has many departments covering a vast variety of subjects. One is the most interesting sections is the National Library. It has more than six million books.
The National Gallery stands on the north side of Trafalgar Square . It was founded in 1824; it has the national collection of Western European painting over 2,000 pictures from 1200 to 1900.
2) The second group is telling about Kyiv.
- Kyiv is the capital of Ancient Rus, is now the capital of Ukraine . The city is situated on the picturesque banks of the Dnipro River . It is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe . There are many places of historical interest in it. Among them we can call the Kyiv-Pecherska Lavra, the Golden Gates, the St Sophia’s Cathedral, the monuments to Prince Volodymyr and others. The population of Kyiv is about three million. Kyiv is the large political, industrial, scientific and cuitural centre.
There are many famous enterprises in Kyiv. Their production is known all over the world. At the present time the famous National Opera, the Ivan Franko Ukrainian Drama Theatre, the Lesia Ukrainka Russian Drama Theatre are greatly appreciated by Kyiv audience and guests from other towns and countries.
- There are many monuments in the capital. The monument to Shevchenko, which is situated in the park opposite the building of the University, the monument to Prince Volodymyr, the monument to Bohdan Khmelnytsky and many others decorate our city. There are some fine bridges over the Dnipro is Kyiv. One of them is the Paton Bridge .
There are many museums in Kyiv: the Historical Museum , the T.H. Shevchenko Museum , the Museum of Ukrainian Art , the Museum of Eastern and Western Art and many others. Kyiv theatres are known not only in the country. Khreschatyk is a very broad street with unique buildings that form the outstanding architectural ensemble.
3) The third group is telling about USA. The territory of the USA is almost 9.400.000.sq.km. It is washed by the Atlantic Ocean in the east, the Arctic Ocean in the north, the Pacific in the west. The population is 252 mln. people. The national flag of the USA called Stars and Stripes. The Statue is the symbol of American democracy.
- The beautiful city of Washington D.C. is the capital of the United States and the centre of its government. Washington is the residence of the President and the Congress of the USA . The White House is the President’s residence, the Capitol – the seat of the American Congress. Pentagon is the residence of the US Military department.
- Washington ’s museums and art galleries are among the finest in the world. On July 4, the Americans celebrate their national holiday, Independence Day. It was declared in 1776.

Pupils, here is a wordrsearch. Find 15 names of cities of the Great Britain , Ukraine , USA as quick as you can. They are written in different directions. (The children are guessing the crossword).
4. Релаксація. (Relaxation).
T. Our last stop is “ Life is short, art is long”. Tell me, please, what is the most popular song in Great Britain ?
- I think, that is a song “My heart will go on”.
